INFOTAINMENT AUDIO WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT COVERAGE

This program extends your New Vehicle Limited Warranty to cover certain qualifying repairs to your infotainment audio head units. The coverage period will be extended from three (3) years or sixty thousand (60,000) kms, to eight (8) years or two hundred forty thousand (240,000) kms, whichever occurs first. Repairs under this coverage period must be completed prior to the expiration of that eight (8) year period, or before two hundred forty thousand (240,000) kms, whichever comes first, calculated from your vehicle’s in-service date. Except as modified by this letter, all the terms and conditions of your original New Vehicle Limited Warranty continue to apply.

Qualifying repairs under this warranty enhancement include a failure in a covered head unit that results in a black or blank screen, a complete loss of audio or inconsistent sound output, repeated rebooting, or an inability to use one of the following features: CarPlay/Android Auto, Navigation, Bluetooth, or concerns with the touchscreen. The enhancement does not cover repairs to components other than the infotainment audio head unit or failures other than those listed above. The enhancement does not cover any damages caused by external factors.

If your vehicle qualifies for a repair under this warranty enhancement, then an Authorized Subaru Dealer will reprogram your head unit using the latest software. If the head unit already has the latest software or is unable to be reprogrammed or if there is any recurrence of the conditions listed above after the latest software has been installed- then an Authorized Subaru Dealer will provide a one-time replacement of the head unit based on their diagnosis. If the head unit continues to experience one of the conditions listed above and a subsequent software update becomes available during the coverage period of this warranty enhancement, then this enhancement will also cover one additional update to the latest software. Coverage under this warranty enhancement will end following that subsequent repair.

If your vehicle has already exceeded 8 years or 240,000 km whichever occurs first from the vehicle’s original warranty start date, the warranty enhancement for the infotainment audio system will be for one year with unlimited mileage and will expire on September 5th, 2026.

THIS WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT IS TRANSFERABLE TO ANY NEW OWNERS OF YOUR VEHICLE.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

Unless your vehicle is currently experiencing issues with the Head Unit, you do not need to do anything but keep this notification and pass it on to the new owner if you sell your vehicle.

If you believe that your vehicle is experiencing issues with the Head Unit, please contact your nearest authorized Subaru Dealer who will perform a diagnostic to assess your vehicle to determine if it is indeed experiencing issue with the Head Unit and determine if it is eligible for coverage.

If you have already paid for repairs associated with this condition, you may be eligible for reimbursement.
